In partnership with suppliers
We work in synergy with our suppliers to ensure the integrity and sustainability of the entire supply chain, valuing the commitment of all actors involved in the supply chain in line with the principles that animate the Group's Code of Ethics.
The increasing attention to sustainability issues and the need to measure, manage, and mitigate ESG risks drive us to promote and incentivize business responsibility not only for the Group, but especially for our suppliers. With them, we strive to create and maintain positive relationships to achieve the highest goal: to provide efficient and safe service to all our customers.
Led by this purpose, we therefore place constant monitoring of environmental, social and governance impacts on the entire supply chain among our priority actions, supporting partners at all stages of their growth process.
Supply chain management and the sharing of our principles becomes increasingly important to drive the efficiency of our work and the development of a sustainable future.

Each supplier is required to embrace the values that guide the company’s operations. By certifying that he or she has familiarized himself or herself with the principles of the Group Code of Ethics and the Code of Ethics ENG-GRE through contractual documentation, each party involved is committed to the highest international labor law standards.
We also ask partners to adhere to the Ethics and Integrity Pact and to conform to our policies on Sustainability, Corruption, Diversity and Inclusion, Human Rights and Integrated Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Energy Management to ensure fruitful and transparent collaboration.

Our performance
We are committed to providing a transparent view of the impact and results of our actions in order to be a reliable reference point for all our stakeholders.
Being a sustainable supplier
We are at the forefront of providing our partners with all the support they need to integrate the required ESG criteria within business procedures and dynamics.
With the aim of helping to strengthen their sustainability performance, we have implemented a monitoring and management model that, through an evaluation system based on indices called “Supplier Scores,” allows us to track factors and requirements that are indispensable for guiding the supply chain toward increasingly conscious and responsible growth.
In addition, this approach aims to ensure that suppliers meet high standards in terms of quality, ethics, sustainability and safety by proactively meeting requirements in three different areas.
Supplier training and involvement
We believe that maintaining a constant dialogue with suppliers and contributing to their education plays a key role in the country’s development. For this reason, since 2021 we have been organizing thematic courses, workshops and webinars, as well as courses on the use of the e-procurement platform and Vendor Rating sharing meetings, using the support of our Energy Service Company (Esco) Geoside to deliver training dedicated to energy efficiency.
Scope 3 and the decarbonization process
A project to revise the Scope 3 emissions calculation model has been active since 2022, involving the entire supply chain in training activities on calculating direct and indirect emissions, energy consumption and ESG issues.

During 2023, the project was also extended to Greece through the delivery of internal and external webinars. The acquisition of greater awareness on the issue has, in addition, allowed the Group to update contractual clauses related to environmental aspects.
In particular, Italgas requires suppliers to adopt emission reduction targets based on validated scientific methodologies according to the guidelines published by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) or, alternatively, to disclose performance related to climate change.
The commitment of the Group and its suppliers was honored at the 2023 Chief Procurement Summit with the Circular Procurement Awards, an important recognition for achieving the Net-Zero Carbon goal to 2050.
Circular economy in the supply chain
In 2023, we involved the stakeholders in our supply chain in a cross-functional project dedicated to the theme of circular economy. The initiative was developed by applying the four cardinal principles of circularity (eco-efficiency, reuse, recovery, and recyclability) with the aim of rethinking processes and materials, replacing or supplementing them with more sustainable alternatives.
After meeting with a number of strategic suppliers in a dedicated workshop to share best practices and create new opportunities for synergy, the circular economy team led the development of the “green construction site” project, adopting, starting in July 2023, the use of PE 100 Raised Crack Bio piping and recycled backfill materials at some of the construction sites being executed in Sicily, Rome, and some smaller urban centers, such as Lerici, Chioggia, Faenza, and San Benedetto del Tronto, for a total of about 4 km of network.
The goal is to implement the adoption of this solution during 2024 as well, with the circular economy team already engaged in the search for new suppliers and cutting-edge solutions.
