    What We Do on Our Worksites

    On our worksites, we build a new generation of gas networks to support the sustainable future of cities: digital, intelligent, and flexible networks. These networks are highly responsive thanks to advanced technologies such as sensors, actuators, and detectors for real-time monitoring and remote management, enabling a gas network that is increasingly decarbonize.

    Sophisticated Projects

    Transformative initiatives for a cutting-edge network.

    • Network Expansions and Upgrades

      We build new network sections to bring gas to underserved areas, improving efficiency with strategic connections and targeted enhancements, addressing the needs of large consumers such as hospitals and industrial operations.

    • Pressure Reduction Units

      We install and maintain intermediate systems that control the gas pressure, ensuring its safe delivery to homes. These essential stations are easily recognized by their small steel cabinets.

    • New Installations and Revamping

      We build and maintain IPRM (City Gate) stations that link city networks to national gas pipelines. These stations measure, odorize*, and regulate the gas for safety. Revamping them ensures the quality and continuity of the service.

    Gas Odorization

    The role of IPRM (Intake, Pressure Reduction, and Measurement Stations) is essential in the gas distribution system, as natural gas is odorless. To ensure the characteristic smell of gas is detectable in the event of a leak, a substance with properties defined by specific technical standards is added to the gas.

    • Network Renewal

      Our networks are kept efficient through dedicated maintenance programs. We replace pipelines to enhance safety and efficiency, using high-performance materials to ensure ever-higher standards.

    • New Connections

      Every day, we meet the demand for new connections by linking new users to the network through pipelines along streets or vertical installations on buildings, ensuring a fast and comprehensive service.

    • Site Restoration

      After every project, we restore the areas to their original condition, including road surfaces, in compliance with local regulations. The work is carried out in multiple phases to ensure long-lasting results.

    A More Sustainable Worksite

    Sustainability is at the heart of how we work on our worksites. We embrace circular economy principles to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource use at every stage of the process. We use forward-looking materials and solutions, such as the “biotubo,” a pipeline made from non-fossil raw materials, and we are committed to utilizing recycled soil and rocks from excavation projects.

    Smart Maintenance: Digitalization and Predictive Safety

    Our smart maintenance transforms upkeep into a predictive activity. Through network digitalization, we detect early signs of potential failures, ensuring a safe and reliable service.

    • Picarro Surveyor

      A detection technology that identifies methane molecules in the air with extremely high sensitivity and georeferenced precision, reducing methane emissions to less than 0.1%.
