We are a key player in the management of water services in Italy. We invest in network efficiency with a focus on reducing losses.

Our goal is to improve services and return value to territories through the adoption of digital technologies.

Objectives

  • The 2023-2029 Strategic Plan (2024-2030) provides for investments of 0.4 billion euros to improve the operating performance of Group companies and for targeted M&A operations.

  • Approximately 140 million euros are earmarked for the digitisation of networks and plants. The collection and analysis of operational data will improve the efficiency of the system and the effectiveness of interventions.

Our water network in Italy

Nepta is the company of the Italgas Group in which the activities of the water sector have been concentrated.  It is present in the regions of Lazio, Campania and Sicily and serves, directly or indirectly, a basin of 6.2 million inhabitants, equal to about 10% of the Italian population.

The strengths of our action

  • Reduction of losses

    The use of advanced technologies makes it possible to significantly reduce network losses, which currently average 42% in Italy, with peaks of over 70% in some areas of the country.

  • Monitoring by remote

    The digital transformation of networks allows you to manage activities remotely, to promptly identify any malfunctions or losses, to apply predictive logic to maintenance programs, thus improving efficiency and quality of service.

  • Sustainability

    The adoption of digital technologies helps to effectively monitor the operating parameters of the system, improve knowledge of the network and plants and their overall impact on the environment.

    Water sector, the digitisation of the service

    In the coming years our networks will be fully digitised and monitored remotely. A centralised ‘control room’ will allow us to monitor and keep under control the different business segments that make up the service. Thanks to the installation of smart meters, consumption will be accounted for regularly and accurately.
